This paper provides an overview of the various options of taxes and levies which have been proposed as instruments which could be used to mobilise additional climate finance. The aim is to be informative not to evaluate the efficacy of the proposals but rather to explain what they are and how they would work while also taking into consideration potential challenges for operationalisation and timing.
