THE SANTIAGO NETWORK FOR LOSS AND DAMAGE: DEBRIEF OF THE THIRD ADVISORY BOARD MEETING AND LOOKING FORWARD TO COP 29 AND BEYOND

This brief summarises the third meeting of the Advisory Board of the Santiago Network (SNAB3) which took place from 4-6 September in Bonn, Germany. Beyond summarising SNAB3, the brief provides expectations for the coming months up to the fourth meeting (SNAB4) which will be held in the first quarter of 2025. This includes expectations for the third review of the WIM being conducted at COP 29/CMA 6, and guidance that can ensure a fully operational and fit for purpose Santiago network that can meet the needs and priorities of developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.
